A helical pile consists of at least one (two for raising footings) Helix-shaped steel bearing plate attached to a central steel shaft. Each helix is circular in plan, formed into a screw thread with defined pitch (typically three inches). Installation is by hydraulic motors mounted to an excavator. The helical pile is rotated (screwed) into the ground to advance one pitch distance per revolution. Helical piles can be fully extendable; so that the helix plates can be installed to a specific bearing depth. A helical foundation can be used to resist uplift and compression loads.
Stabilize unstable footing/foundation
Available in a range of sizes and load capacities to suit almost any structure, they provide a reliable and stable footing/foundation by reaching deep into the ground to transfer loads away from unstable soils. Not only are they easy to install, but their design ensures that very minimal external excavation is needed resulting in lower labor costs, reducing the extent of disruption to your property and daily life.
Raise sunken footings
Installed by experienced contractors using ground-penetrating equipment and precise engineering measurements, helical piles provide a reliable foundation fix with minimal disruption to the surrounding area. This method saves time and money over traditional approaches such as excavation and concrete pour-backs and is even becoming the preferred choice in commercial applications.
Underpinning
Helical piles provide a sturdy foundation for weak soils without having to excessively excavate the area, as well as providing support for new infrastructure, adding additional floors to buildings and substantial weight-bearing useable space. Helical piles can also be installed in a much shorter time period than traditional options, making them preferable if you need the repair done quickly.

Screw piles are designed to support homes of any size. The helical piles will be installed deep into the ground and will provide a stable foundation to lift and rectify cracks.
The construction of screw piles is also more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional foundation repair techniques. In many city regions where homes are close together, excavating to particular depths may put the neighbouring structure’s structural integrity at risk. Helical piles allow contractors to operate securely in hard-to-reach locations.
Your home is your most valuable asset. You want to make sure it's as secure and stable as possible, especially during times of inclement weather.
A weak or unstable foundation can cause all sorts of problems for your home, including cracks in the walls or ceilings, water damage, and even structural failure. But what happens when your soil isn't suitable for a traditional concrete foundation, or when the ground is unstable due to erosion or flooding?
Helical piles are a proven solution for repairing or stabilizing a home's foundation. With equipment engineered to measure soil resistance, piles are drilled until suitable load-bearing torque is reached. This ensures that your foundation will be able to withstand whatever Mother Nature throws its way.
Our family-owned business has been dedicated to providing top-tier foundation repair to homeowners in Windsor and surrounding areas in Ontario for over a decade. Reach out to us today!
Helical piles are drilled into the ground until the required torque threshold is met. The equipment used in the installation measures the amount of torque needed to drill a screw pile deeper, which reflects the soil's load-bearing capacity. Each helical pile is engineered to hold a predetermined quantity of weight.
A heavy steel foundation bracing is installed to the structure's footing after the piers are in place. This connects the helical piles and allows the building weight to be transferred permanently. Once this is complete, you will be able to carefully raise, level, or stabilize the foundation based on the demands of the job.
